It was moving out day for most of us at what we eventually called PhiBetaTerpsichore- the sorority house for the dancers. In the late afternoon, all who were left were Becka, Ari and I and we decided we wanted to lay in the lawn and enjoy each others' company for the last (for me). As we lay in our lawn, we glanced at the grass and we found a little beetle trying to crawl its way up through the grass. It even did a spider crawl against 2 blades of grass at one point, as it tried to get out of the mess of vegetation that it seemed to be trapped in. As we watched it closely and even tried to help it out with a Cheez-it cracker, we decided to name it Virgil. Not long after we had named it, Ari found 10 or more similar beetles throughout the lawn, but they were all dead. That's when we knew it was time to go back into the house and make a Spartan omelette for lunch/dinner, packed with spinach and lots of feta :)
