It's Always Pleasant in Chicago

Oh being in the beautiful, scenic city of Chicago was just what the doctor ordered. It was the nest weekend I had had in a while. Spending quality time with a friend from back home, exploring new terrain and biking for hours on a chilly, though sun-drenched day...The pier was so picturesque and taking a photo of it did it no justice whatsoever, though we didn't stop trying, of course. The multiple jumping pictures we attempted at taking captured the whole feel of the trip- reminiscent of childhood and adolescence. We swung on swings in end, belted out songs as we biked along, devoured unhealthy cuisine and never had a care in the world. It truly was a trip I had needed in a while.

Love you bean.

Pictures will be uploaded soon.

The Recession-Proof Artist

The state of the economy these days is making even me, still a college student, extremely weary about my future as an artist. How many dance companies out there are seeking new dancers? It scares me to think that I'll have to fend for myself very soon. Being such a long distance away from home definitely doesn't ease my emotional situation either. But watching this video of artist, Alexander Conner, has made me feel more optimistic and even be able to embrace the 'starving artist' lifestyle that may or may not be inevitable. All I know is that I am the one responsible for my future and for the fulfillment of my dreams and my love for my art surpasses my fear.

Friendly Fires- Skeleton Boy

Selfridges in London

What a strong statement and beautiful coming together of a community of people, uninhibited by the outward appearances that suffocate our society today.

Gym Class Heroes

I had recently read an article in an issue of Nylon magazine saying that sweatpants can really be worn in a chic fashion and I found a perfect image that represents just that! The heather grey, cropped and tapered sweatpants are worn with such elan by this girl. I wonder if I would be able to pull this look off as well.

Sketches

I love cartoon-like sketches of these fashion designers. There's something endearing about their child-likeness and simplicity.

Too bad they only ship to the UK, or else I would purchase them in an instant.

Mats Ek=Genius

My favourite duet from "Appartment".

Blue Jazz Shooooooes

Oooh...I love her electric blue jazz shoes, which really pump up the whole outfit. Oh, the little surprises are truly the best.

NancyandChang's day of fun

Blondie t-shirt, vintage waist belt and AWESOME parachute pants.

Little Tutu Babies!

I'd love to dress my little infant-child in pieces of tulle. I think these kids look absolutely adorable and darling! My child would be subject to my child-like wonderment towards things like balloons and buttons and tutus.

Can't control my obsession with them

Gallim Dance

I thought I liked Andrea Miller's Gallim Dance, when in fact, I ADORE them. All I can say is she used Beirut.

Scraffffff.

Yet another model...but I really like the way she's tied her scarf around her neck. I mean it's so simple I should have thought of doing it this way too, but I guess I haven't. Hah!

As They Walk On By

I really wish I wore/ could wear stilettos. I have a secret love for them and these look so darn beautiful that they make me want to bust out a pair too. But alas, my feet are of sole importance. NO flip flops for me either!

Jeans

I absolutely adore these jeans this girl is sporting. Nothing some black paint can't do for a cheap pair of jeans. Summer project?

Summer and Bummers and Boo.

I can't believe how long it's been since I've posted anything. Transitions on my life are occurring right now and they have taken me away from the little things in life which I used to indulge in. Well, now that summer is here and school's out, I'll probably be spending most of my time hanging out and lazing the days away with Bummers and Boo. And possibly staging some Happenings. How sweet summer is going to be. New York awaits me as well and I hope to come back a changed person! For the better of course. It's time to let bygones be bygones and to inaugurate my homecoming. I've been gone from myself for too long and it's bittersweet being back.
